Environmental Drilling Sawgrass Why are Location with Sawgrass Hard to Drill into?

Geotechnical drilling happens in locations all around the United State of America in very different conditions. In the State of Florida, some environmental conditions found here are not found anywhere else in the country. This includes issues related to coastal and maritime geotechnical drilling, as well as other types of environmental drilling. Sawgrass residents might not be aware that their cities name sake, natural sawgrass, is not easy to drill into when there is a large amount of it present. There are a few different reasons for this that professional drilling companies have to take notice when they go to a location that has sawgrass present.

The Locations Where Sawgrass is Present

Sawgrass can be seen in different locations, but it is most commonly seen in the wet marshlands of Florida. Even though water is easy to move through, it is not always easy to drill into, even with the best equipment made for environmental drilling. Sawgrass residents should know that drilling the sediments that lie underwater can be done, it is just not easy. This is because visibility is a huge problem but also for the fact that sediments are constantly moving and shifting, making it hard to have a good borehole at a location.

Sandy Soils in Marshlands

Sand is often timing the softest and most malleable form of sediment that people interact with. This is what makes many people believe that it would be easy to drill into, but this simply not the case when it comes to environmental drilling. Sawgrass residents should be made aware that even with the sand that is above sea level or in a coastal region is not easy to drill into because the soils keep shifting, and there is a higher likelihood of hitting water the deeper professionals go with their drilling equipment. It is very unlikely that sawgrass would be growing at a location that does not have a high amount of sandy soils.
