Technical Drilling Services Carrollwood Is technical Drilling Possible with only a Shovel?
When the average person thinks about geotechnical drilling or technical drilling services, Carrollwood residents might think that they can do it themselves, let alone do it with nothing more than a shovel or a piece of machinery. There is a reason why geotechnical drilling companies use various drilling rigs and drill bits to perform technical drilling jobs because of how quick and precise they are at gaining access to the ground. An individual using only a shovel is not ideal because the run the risk of compromising the job at hand, or by ruining the location all together.
Using a Shovel is Not Practical
Shovels are used for digging holes, so why are they not often used by geotechnical drilling professionals when they are performing geotechnical drilling services? Carrollwood residents might not know how deep or how precise technical drilling can be. Most professionals use drills to gain access to the sediment below them because it is much faster than doing it manually with a shovel, but also because it is more precise. A drill can accomplish in an hour or two what it would take someone a day to do with only a shovel. Shovels are still used in the industry for sure, but they are not used in major drilling projects.
Shovel Digging is not Precise Enough
Most people think that gaining access to the ground at a specific location is only about digging or drilling straight down, but this is not true. For example, in sinkhole investigations, Sinkhole activity may be shown in one particular area, but it may not be ideal to dig into the ground with a shovel to perform technical drilling services. Carrollwood residents should also be aware that sometimes technical drilling is performed in order to collect a core sample of a site, which is not ideal when using nothing more than shovels.
