Soil Testing Carrollwood

Carrollwood, Florida

Soil testing is a great way to determine what the conditions under the surface of a location look like. This can make or break any future construction or infrastructure efforts, depending on what it is that geotechnical drilling professionals find. This makes many people wonder if it is even necessary for geotechnical drilling professionals to perform soil testing? Carrollwood residents should be made aware that even if soil testing is not mandatory, it may still be a good idea to have it done. Even geotechnical drilling professionals are sometimes shocked by what they discover during sample collection for soil testing.

Soil Testing at New Locations

If there is ever a mandatory time that someone should consider getting soil testing, Carrollwood residents should know that the best time to get soil testing done is when work is being done on a piece of land that hasn’t been worked on before. Sometimes construction companies can use earlier samples to determine if a location is safe to work on. But if a piece of land has never had samples collected or a soil test performed, you would be asking for trouble by starting new construction anyway. There are many issues that can cause problems for future construction, some of which would put a permanent hold on the project until geological conditions are improved.

What happens if No Soil Testing is done?

If no soil testing is done, there is a good chance that the geological conditions are fine and there will be nothing wrong with the structure in the future. However, this is never recommended by geotechnical drilling professionals that perform soil testing. Carrollwood residents, for example, should know that one of the biggest geological issues that happens in the state of Florida is sinkholes. A sinkhole that is very active can easily compromise the foundation or actual structure of the building, making it very unsafe.
